I have written and delivered my own writing class material for the continuing education department at Johnson County Community College since 1999. I've taught classes designed to assist students tap into their personal experiences for writing inspiration, work with the writing space they have, market their work and set up their freelance business. I've also facilitated a writers group and coached many students to published success. My speaking credits include speaking to government and utility public relation specialists and a retreat at Unity Village in Lee's Summit Missouri that hosted writers from all over the world. I've been invited to speak at the national Society of Professional Journalists convention in Chicago in August 2006 and the national Women in Communications conference in Kansas City in September 2006.
